What is Fishtown like?

Fishtown sits along the Delaware River north of Northern Liberties, with Olde Kensington to its west. The name comes from the shad fishing industry that once lined its riverfront. Today Frankford and Girard Avenues are some of the busiest restaurant, coffee and music corridors in the city, and The Fillmore brought a major concert venue to the neighborhood.

Penn Treaty Park marks the spot where William Penn is said to have made his treaty with the Lenape, and the Market-Frankford Line (the El) stops at Girard, Berks and York-Dauphin, putting Center City a short ride away.

What kinds of homes are in Fishtown and Olde Kensington?

Classic two- and three-story brick rowhomes share blocks with modern new construction, many with roof decks and parking. Olde Kensington, west of Front Street, adds condo conversions in former factories and warehouses along with newer townhome infill. The range runs from starter condos to large new-construction homes, which is why pricing here depends so much on the specific block and building.

Why work with Town & Line in Fishtown?

This is the neighborhood the team knows best. Kyle and his wife live in Fishtown, and The Mill at Howard, Town & Line’s boutique rental building, is in Olde Kensington. That block-by-block familiarity matters in a market where two homes a few streets apart can price very differently.
